BILLABONG ISA WORLD SURFING GAMES COSTA RICA 2009

Playa Hermosa, COSTA RICA August 5, 2009 – With a day of competition at the Billabong International Surfing Association (ISA) World Surfing Games Costa Rica 2009 that started with sun, included rainstorms, and was put on hold for 2 ½ hours by a power outage, the Costa Rica National Surf Team are proud that their Open surfers Carlos Muñoz of Esterillos and Jason Torres of Jaco won their heats and entered into the elite Top 8 competitors of repercharge and the qualifier main event respectively.

Beginning the day as the #3 country behind #1 Australia and #2 United States at the Billabong International Surfing Association (ISA) World Surfing Games Costa Rica 2009, the Costa Rica National Surf Team offered up its two Longboard surfers to compete against the other countries here at Playa Hermosa’s Terrazas del Pacífico.

Playa Hermosa, COSTA RICA August 4, 2009 – In a day when the Costa Rica National Surf Team saw three team members eliminated from the Billabong International Surfing Association (ISA) World Surfing Games Costa Rica 2009, 16-year-old Carlos Muñoz (Esterillos) provided two of the most exciting—and winning—heats so far in this tournament.
